Australia’s Wedge-Tailed Eagles made numismatic history in 2014 when John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, collaborated with the Perth Mint, marking the first time that a U.S. Mint engraver had ever designed a coin for a foreign mint.
