This stunning 1 kilogram Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coin is the fourth installment in one of the most exciting series ever produced by the Geiger Edelmetalle mint, the Armenian Noah‘s Ark collection. The series has been captivating coin collectors with its dynamic rendition of the beloved biblical epic since 2011. Each coin is minted in an impressive 1 kilogram (32.15 troy ounces) of .999 fine silver, giving it a face value of 10,000 dram.

Beautifully rendered on the obverse of the coin is the moment of calm after the storm. It depicts a dove, carrying an olive branch as a message of hope to the ark, which is gently bobbing on the peaceful waters. Further contributing to this sense of hope are the rays of sunlight beaming down upon Mt. Ararat in the distant horizon. From the carved panels of the wooden ark to the ripples of the flood waters, viewers are certain to appreciate the level of detail that has been captured in this pastoral landscape. Encircling the image is an inscribed border with the phrase “Noah’s Ark,” printed in both English and Armenian.

The reverse side of the coin pays tribute to Armenia’s history and culture by prominently displaying its national coat of arms. This emblematic crest consists of an eagle and a lion upholding a shield. Like the obverse side of the coin, the reverse displays an impressive amount of detail. Particularly noteworthy is the meticulous engraving of the shield. Such precise rendering enables viewers to clearly decipher each decorative element in spite of its size. Also engraved on the reverse side are the country’s name along with the coin’s purity, weight, denomination and mintage year.
