The 2023 Year of the Rabbit arrives with a celebration of the water rabbit, the first appearance of this version of the rabbit since 1963. The lunar animals follow a general cycle of one appearance every 12 years, with five elemental versions of these animals appearing once every 60 years. For example, 2023 and 1963 were the last two Year of the Water Rabbits.
All of these 2023 1 Kilo Australian Silver Rabbit Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in the 1 Kilo weight come with individual protective capsules. The 1 Kilo coin has an unlimited mintage, meaning only that Perth Mint will strike the coins to meet demand through the start of the next design in the series.
On the obverse of 2023 Australian Silver Rabbit Coins is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty features here in the iconic fifth-generation portrait created by Jody Clark in 2015 for the Royal Mint. Its appearance on Australian coins marks the sixth effigy of the Queen on coins of the Commonwealth of Australia.
The reverse side of the 2023 1 Kilo Silver Rabbit comes with a depiction of two rabbits. Created by Ing Ing Jong, this design shows two small rabbits beneath a tree branch. One of the rabbits is seated as the other rabbit stands up on its hind legs to sniff at the lowest branch hanging above the two.
