The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is among the oldest bullion coins in the market today. Surprisingly, this series saw 45 issues over the decades featuring just one monarch on the obverse of the coins. With Elizabeth II’s passing in September 2022, the Royal Canadian Mint eventually replaced her effigy with one of King Charles III. The 2025 release marks just the second with his portrait. Today, 2025 1/2 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Sheets are available.

All 2025 1/2 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Sheets here feature a sealed sheet of plastic with a total of 10 coins inside. Each coin is a 2025-dated Maple Leaf and the sheet offers a total of 5 Troy ounces of 24-karat gold.
On the obverse of 2025 Canadian Gold Maple Leafs is a bust of King Charles III. For just the second time in program history, Charles III features in left-profile relief on the obverse of these coins. Steven Rosati created this portrait of His Majesty and is only the third Canadian artist to develop a monarch portrait for the Royal Canadian Mint.
The reverse side of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin comes with a depiction of the sugar maple leaf. The front-facing maple leaf debuted on Gold Maples in 1979 and has since been used on all weights in gold, as well as silver, platinum, and palladium versions of the coin.
